About the artist
I am an artist and painter living and working in San Francisco.
I received an MFA from the University of British Columbia, a Diploma in Painting from the Alberta College of Art and Design, and have since been captivated by the impact and influence of technology on culture.
I have investigated this interest through my art practice, as well as extensive engagement in the Silicon Valley technology ecosystem.
Through a high-tech industry lens on culture, as well as my own intuition and experience, my art explores contexts such data and human identity; the construction of self in the age of social media; new modes of advanced manufacturing in the physical world, and alternative approaches to creation in the realm of the digital.
My artwork attempts to re-present my own experience beyond what can be encapsulated by language, and often incorporates symbolic or allegorical elements drawn from history and popular culture.
Moving between traditional (analogue) crafts such as painting and drawing, and technologically mediated processes such as 3D modeling and digital printing, my practice is dedicated to to speaking to the human experience of consciousness in an age of accelerating science and technology.
