Another Kind of Eternal
"Another Kind of Eternal", 2020, Oil and Mixed Media on canvas, 48 X 36 inches ©
This artwork is one of a series of paintings exploring the relationship between technology, our understanding of time, and being alive.
Incorporating visual references to illusion in renaissance paintings as well as 3D modeling, this painting attempts to interrogate the boundaries of the natural and something beyond, contemplating the possibility that we will always be navigating through our relationship to technology and time.
In this work, multiple elements — such as gestural mark-making, abstract compositions, and figurative images — come together with traditional painting techniques and technology-mediated processes.
